Australian Archive
All of the archived places for Oceania are in Australia, so this is the "Australian" Archive. The other continents are different.
BLUE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK, AUS | August 2024
This is a train ride away from Sydney. I'll be waiting for the American public transport to catch up.
CANBERRA, AUS | August 2024
Normally I write "oh I wasn't here long enough to capture the full story of these places" for my archive pages. With Canberra that's a lie (so I didn't write it at the top of this page. The real fans noticed). I've got to tell you about it.
Canberra is wack - yep, that's the word I settled on. It was designed by a guy in Chicago who never came to see the area. It was built because Melbourne and Sydney couldn't decide who should be the capital. So people did not settle here, but were pulled here because of their jobs in politics. Those are the only people who live here. The city is so minimal and so clearly a forced place to live. It's buildings stick out as blemishes on an otherwise beautiful landscape.
So, I have one merely okay photo to share. It's not a pretty place. But if you are a policy nerd like me, you'll find it super interesting - 6 hours and the museums are enough.
